since this problem only appears if you import old stuff from mozilla, I suspect
that the problem is not in the IMAP layer, but somehow the old IMAP settings are
trashed during migration.

Please look at all instances of the term 'Sent' you can find in the prefs.js
file in your profile directory. If they all look like expected (e.g. the
fcc_folder entries), try to take a look if the namespace pref is broken (you can
look this up in your prefs.js file - or tell us what is set in account settings
-> server settings -> advanced -> IMAP -> Namespace).

If there is still no sign of corruption, maybe even try to find the String
'Inbox^^Sent' in you profile directory (e.g. find ~/.mozilla-thunderbird -type f
| xargs grep 'Inbox^^Sent').
