Package: kvm-source Version: 28-3 Severity: important Hi !
I have a 2.6.21 kernel and I wanted to try kvm. I installed the kvm (version 28-3) and it was not working with the kernel kvm modules. So I m-a a-i kvm and I installed "home made" kvm modules. Theses modules are installed in /lib/modules/{kvers}/misc and the kernel ones in /lib/modules/{kvers}/kernel/drivers/kvm/ So the kernel stay as default modules and the "updated"/installed ones are not used with a modprobe or automatic loading. Of course, a insmod with full path works. >From a command line point of view : # depmod -a # modinfo kvm-intel filename: /lib/modules/2.6.21/kernel/drivers/kvm/kvm-intel.ko license: GPL author: Qumranet depends: kvm vermagic: 2.6.21 SMP mod_unload 686 # dpkg -L kvm-modules-2.6.21 | grep kvm-intel /lib/modules/2.6.21/misc/kvm-intel.ko Cheers, Romain. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.21 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages kvm-source depends on: ii bzip2 1.0.3-7 high-quality block-sorting file co ii debhelper 5.0.50 helper programs for debian/rules ii make 3.81-3 The GNU version of the "make" util kvm-source recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
