Thanks for your response Romain,

On this host I'm just doing MediaWiki development (WebDAV/DeltaV
interface), so I'm using MediaWiki from Subversion instead of the Debian
package.

You're right, I could install the dependencies and compile texvc from my
MediaWiki source, but I would prefer to install a Debian package since
it is more convenient: Dependencies and updates are handled for me
(thanks to your work : )

Would you also consider renaming this package from "mediawiki-math" to
"texvc", since this is the binary it provides? I take your point about
texvc really being designed for MediaWiki: The output isn't human
friendly. However it could potentially be used by other projects, like a
Drupal math module.

Either way, I would really like to to install a Debian package of texvc
without installing MediaWiki...

Thanks for maintaining MediaWiki in Debian, Jack
