Current CVS version cannot play my sample audio file (ripped using cdda2wav)
on the PS3 (PPC64):

| ps3:~# play /tmp/audio.wav
| play soxio: Failed reading `/tmp/audio.wav': Unknown WAV file encoding (type
100)
| ps3:~# logout

Older sox (12.17.9-1 from Debian) plays it fine on both PPC and ia32.

Interestingly, if I append `-x' with the old version, it gives the same error
message as the new version. But appending `-x' with the new version doesn't
make the problem go away.

Gr{oetje,eeting}s,

                                                Geert
