I am currently working on the version 0.0.20070501, but in the meanwhile I have the problems to build the new package because of the new python modules in this package. Besides that, this new package will get into experimental first, I think (because of big changes in this version). Maybe you can try to use the fontforge-0.0.20070324-1 package from the experimental branch.
