I must admit I still fail to understand why this branding is so important to you. I believe it is advantage for the subprojects like DeMuDi, Debian-NP and Debian-Edu to not brand popularity-contest, and at least Debian Edu us popcon to report what schools are using (<URL:http://popcon.skolelinux.org/>). This is the reason I believe it is an advantage to allow all users of popcon to use the same package, and thus it is a good reason to avoid specifying information which might be wrong for some subprojects.
