The package description should refer to Debian as "Debian" or "the Debian
project", not as "us". "us" is like "we". "We" can talk about "we" among
"ourselves", but not to users. At best, this is informal.
Hello Filipus,
How do you suggest to write the description then ?
Hi Bill,
the new description committed by Christian solves the problem I
reported. Merci bubulle.
I have no strong opinion about whether removing Debian completely from
the package description is a good idea. Distros with their own popcon
will need to modify the package anyway, so modifying the description
should be no big deal. It can also be good to mention Debian instead of
"this distribution" so that the description doesn't lie to users of Yet
Another Attempt At A Debian-Based Distro, which doesn't have the
resources to either remove popcon or modify it. Even though these users
probably asked for trouble :)
Cheers
