Quoting Debian Bug Tracking System ([EMAIL PROTECTED]): > Processing commands for [EMAIL PROTECTED]: > > > # Automatically generated email from bts, devscripts version 2.9.26 > > severity 411322 minor > Bug#411322: atftpd: /tftpboot/ is not FHS compliant > Severity set to `minor' from `serious'
Hmm, is there a rationale for this? Non FHS compliance *is* release-critical. The RM decided to ignore this for etch which is fine but I don't think this makes this bug less important. More generally speaking, I'm not sure that changing bug severities should be done without explanations. In such case, I usually CC [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a short line of rationale. Otherwise, the change in severity is mostly hidden, especially to the bug submitter. I happen to see this just because I'm temporarily subscribed to the package's PTS as I NMU'ed atftp a few days ago.
