While I can't replicate that bug here, it's likely that this is caused
by the server not responding. In the current stable version of jwhois,
there is a problem with timeouts. This code has been entirely rewritten
and made more configurable in the CVS version. A new release of jwhois
is expected shortly, and hopefully it will appear in Debian not long
afterwards.
