Indeed, if I rename the /tmp/.ICE-unix directory before, it doesn't get removed:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo mv /tmp/.ICE-unix/ /tmp/old-ice-unix-dir [ suspend to ram ] [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ls /tmp/old-ice-unix-dir/ 27627 7854 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
