Package: manpages Version: 2.17-1 Severity: minor my system apparently did not have a current mandb, as a result even though dpkg -L listed dpkg.1.gz, man 1 dpkg yielded the see man 7 undocumented.
There was no reference in man 7 undocumented to mandb so I kept trying to figure out what was broken. At first I thought that maybe dpkg wasn't installed, but it was, ... Eventually after reading man man and using strace, I tried mandb and suddenly man dpkg worked. The contents of man 7 undocumented appear the same in 2.39-1, but the package I'm using is from nexenta and is version 2.17-1. I tried to follow the style of man 7 man and man 1 find.
