I have a mysql database with non-ASCII characters which render fine in phpmyadmin, openoffice, and other mysql clients, whatever the locale. When running knoda in an 8 bit locale, non-ASCII characters show up fine. When running knoda in an UTF-8 locale, non-ASCII characters are displayed "II". For instance, "François" becomes "FranIIois". And when I type non-ASCII letters, they are approximated (ç becomes c, etc.). (UTF-8 is now the default locale charset in Etch...)
