Package: autoconf Version: 2.61-3 Severity: important I got the following error from aclocal:
/usr/bin/m4: unrecognized option `--debugfile=autom4te.cache/traces.0t' Try `/usr/bin/m4 --help' for more information. autom4te: /usr/bin/m4 failed with exit status: 1 aclocal: autom4te failed with exit status: 1 /usr/bin/autom4te calls "m4 --debugfile=...". The --debugfile option does not exist in m4 version 1.4.4-1. Upgrading m4 to 1.4.8 fixes the problem. In older versions of autoconf (2.60a-3), "m4 --error-output=..." was used instead, which works on both version of m4. -jim -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.17.4 Locale: LANG=POSIX, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages autoconf depends on: ii debianutils 2.17 Miscellaneous utilities specific t ii m4 1.4.4-1 a macro processing language ii perl 5.8.8-6.1 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction Versions of packages autoconf recommends: ii automake [automaken] 1:1.10+nogfdl-1 A tool for generating GNU Standard ii automake1.6 [automaken] 1.6.3-12 A tool for generating GNU Standard ii automake1.7 [automaken] 1.7.9-9 A tool for generating GNU Standard ii automake1.8 [automaken] 1.8.5-3 A tool for generating GNU Standard ii automake1.9 [automaken] 1.9.6-4 A tool for generating GNU Standard -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
