Package: gs-common Version: 0.3.11 Severity: normal For some time now, gs does not find some truetype fonts on my system, like bitstream vera and dejavu, while they are registered under Defoma. The net result is that they are substituted (badly) and graphics using these fonts are completely broken when converted to EPS or PDF.
I found that the TT fonts are not listed in /var/lib/defoma/gs.d/dirs/fonts/Fontmap, but in /var/lib/defoma/gs.d/dirs/fonts/FAPIfontmap, and that adding them by hand in Fontmap fixes the problem. Since I know nothing of ghostcript font handling, I do not know what is the proper fix. Note that I'm using gs-gpl (both gs-esp and gs-afpl fail to read the EPS files generated by inkscape) -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (400, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.17-2-k7 Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages gs-common depends on: ii debconf [debc 1.5.11 Debian configuration management sy ii debianutils 2.17.4 Miscellaneous utilities specific t ii defoma 0.11.10 Debian Font Manager -- automatic f ii gs 8.54.dfsg.1-5 Transitional package ii gs-afpl [gs] 8.53-1 The AFPL Ghostscript PostScript in ii gs-esp [gs] 8.15.3.dfsg.1-1 The Ghostscript PostScript interpr ii gs-gpl [gs] 8.54.dfsg.1-5 The GPL Ghostscript PostScript int ii gsfonts 1:8.11+urwcyr1.0.7~pre41-1 Fonts for the Ghostscript interpre gs-common recommends no packages. -- debconf information excluded -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
