I think the message should be changed in anything similar to: "Hylafax is now correctly configured and may be run automatically. Should I unblock it in order to run in automatically or do you need any other custom setup before unblocking it?" > BTW, I think the 'stop' - as well as the adduser stage - should be moved > to a .preinst script. > Then sequence would be: > > stop . adduser-if-needed . install/upgrade . setup . maybe-(re)start I would use preinst for anything required during install. The faxmaster user isn't required for unpacking and setting up hylafax. Maybe the 'stop' action could be moved in preinst stage. > where 'maybe' would be user's choice. hylafax should be setup correctly automatically and it should run on boot. The question is there only to stop the automatic configuration when anything special is required, i.e., for configuring modems before running hylafax. > The re-start according to previous status, in 'restart', if any, should be > used for non-interactive - if allowed - upgrade. right. This is why the note have priority 'low'. If the install/upgrade is unattended or if the user isn't an expert (and use a medium level for debconf), then the automatic install will not start hylafax during install (and will restart hylafax only if it was running on upgrade). Do you still think it should be changed? I may do it, but I cannot block the installation process prompting the user with a 'high' priority question.
