way but i can already smell the "well, everything else works well, so please
fix your goddamn thing" upcoming.

I'm taking in here bug reports, not blames.

Also, i'm not going to ask you stuff further in case you're not willing to
cooperate; i'm going to ask you stuff from now on on this bug and expect
some reply to it; if you don't care about it (BMPx), which is a slight
undertone in your last statement(s), then please say so now, otherwise:

Can you give more information about your system configuration? (Soundcard,
etc?)

How are other apps configured to use ALSA? What is the device name (ALSA
device name, like "hw:1,0" or "hw:0,0", etc), they use?
