The man page for pam_ldap.conf says regarding the host attribute: >If not specified the libraries will attempt to use DNS 'Resource Records' >(RR) or 'Service Records' (SRV) to find the appropriate host. However it seems that instead it just logs messages to about host not existing. Can the documentation be fixed, or the code be fixed?
