After migrating a sarge box to etch, /etc/modprobe.d/sound is still
around with an entry
options snd device_mode=0660
which causes failure in loading snd module with 2.6.17+
Please, manage better this kind of issue, because the resulting
Undefined symbol xxx long list can really upset a common user.
Minimally please document and warn users in /usr/share/doc
