it probably does. And I see that this behaviour is a feature - different
subdirectories can easily be configured differently. But how about
copying (or linking to) the root llgalrc in the subdirectories'
configuration dir, if there's not .llgal/llgalrc already there? (the
.css file is also copied, even though in principle, one would often be enough)

but for now I'm fine using --config on the command line

usually, my images are much larger, and I want to have all 3 sizes
(thumbnail, scaled, original) in a gallery. This time, I have almost 1G
of pics, and only want to keep the thumbnails and the mid-sized 800x600
images.

Now, my usual needs are stored in ~/.llgal/llgalrc - which is always
read, so I thought I'd pass --sy=0 in the local configfile to "reset"
the option and not get the link. I guess I better move the user config
file out of the way for this one project...?

Thanks alot for caring so much about my mess - I haven't tried again,
but I think I should be ok now. Close the bug as you see fit - it's
probably mostly a documentation issue, and llgal's manpage is already
long (well, it's a programme with many features!). Oh, one thing about
the manpage: how about integrating the configuration file option names
with the equivalent command line argument's description?

best,
Florian
