Hi, > reopen 369962
I'm not sure that reopening the report was a good idea since this issue seems to be completely unrelated to the original one (although the subject is indeed very generic). > This may be fixed for a fresh install of version 1.3 but when I tried to > upgrade from 1.2 to 1.3 it still failed. Here is the output: Hmm, I cannot reproduce that error. Upgrading works fine with me from 1.2 to current 1.4. Maybe you can provide me with more information on the specifics of your installation. Can you add "set -x" to the top of /var/lib/dpkg/info/msttcorefonts.preinst and run "dpkg --configure -a"? That should give some output to see exactly what fails. thanks, Thijs > Preparing to replace msttcorefonts 1.2 (using .../msttcorefonts_1.3_all.deb) > ... > W: usr/share/fonts/truetype/ariali.ttf: not registered. > dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/msttcorefonts_1.3_all.deb > (--unpack): > subprocess pre-installation script returned error exit status 1 > warning: /usr/share/fonts/X11/truetype does not exist or is not a directory > warning: /usr/lib/X11/fonts/truetype does not exist or is not a directory > These fonts were provided by Microsoft "in the interest of cross-platform > compatibility".
