Hi David, Sorry for the slow response; since I quitted my previous job, it's a bit more difficult to get physical access to the computer in question. (On the other hand, I don't really care about it any more.)
Anyway, I tested it with 2.6.18-3, and without acpi=off, the system is still screwed up. (Now the hard disks are controlled by a PCI raid controller, and even that was not detected, so I could not even boot.) I don't have time to try the mentioned workaround. Best wishes: Kristof On Fri, 27 Oct 2006 17:27:34 +0200 David Schmitt <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- > Hash: SHA1 > > Hi Kristof! > > > In preparation of the upcoming etch release, would you please > test if either 2.6.17-9 from testing or 2.6.18-3 from unstable > fixes your problem with your NIC? > > Additionally, there seems to be a workaround to be found in the kernel.or > bugzilla: > > http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4773#c17 and following comments > > > Please report your findings by sending "found" or "close" followed by > the bug number and the respective version to [EMAIL PROTECTED] as > detailed on http://www.debian.org/Bugs/server-control or by sending > additional information to the bug report (reply to this mail) > > > Thank you for your cooperation! > > > Regards, David > > > - -- > - - hallo... wie gehts heute? > - - *hust* gut *rotz* *keuch* > - - gott sei dank kommunizieren wir über ein septisches medium ;) > -- Matthias Leeb, Uni f. angewandte Kunst, 2005-02-15 > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- > Version: GnuPG v1.4.5 (GNU/Linux) > > iD8DBQFFQiVn/Pp1N6Uzh0URAkAdAKCXEn8vKKGTERtvouo97vEV5QArpwCfcD2m > eVNm4vpEp+BvyjtFaK+8f9k= > =QZup > -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- >
