I tried a few additional tests on the subject hardware:
- To confirm that the hardware is functional, I booted the demo version of Win Server 2003 that is currently on hda. Both network cards came up and were visible within the rest of the local network. The hardware *is* functional.
- To rule out an issue with the 2.6 kernel, I re-ran the installer with the 2.4 kernel. It also did not detect the network hardware.
