Alejandro, i experienced the same issue on my dv 1143ea and fixed it
like this, could you try on your dv1117 too ?
- boot textual with "install DEBIAN_FRONTEND=newt"
- switch to VT2
- echo "disable-modue=linux_input" >/etc/directfbrc
- export DEBIAN_FRONTEND=gtk
- debian-installer
At this stage, I got an error saying:
/build/buildd/cdebconf-0.107/src/frontend:17 (frontend_new): Cannot load
frontend module /usr/lib/cdebconf/frontend/gtk.so .... No such file or
directory
I could not manage to find and copy that file to that location.
Yhis means the frontend is missing: pheraps you're using a ISO which
doesn't include the GTK frontend?
I suggest you to try with a i386 gtk-miniiso [1].
