Well in the bug report it refers to 'freshly installed etch'; my system is neither freshly installed, nor etch; it is sid. This is something that changed after a recent upgrade. In any event I removed 'Proxy "false"' from the line below and it seems to work OK. Is this right? Acquire::http:: ; Thanks for the help.
