Package: ftp.debian.org Severity: minor iptables has important priority but is not a necessary tool, so its priority should be lowered to either standard or optional. Its priority was lowered from standard to important by James Troup in 2003 after a suggestion by Dan Jacobson to make iptables' priority match ipchains' (cf #206685), so one should check why ipchains was priority important to verify if there was ever a good reason for iptables to be priority important.
