Hi Bart, OK, it's been a really long time since this bug was reported but gnucash is now on version 2.0.1-2 and the behaviour has changed somewhat.

Well, now gnucash2 does not give you the message box, it just doesn't allow you to add a transaction - not sure if that is an improvement really.
