Package: libasound2-plugins Version: 1.0.11-1 Since alsa-libs 1.0.11 the alsa-plugins source has included a plugin which adds high quality sample rate conversion support to ALSA by linking to libsamplerate.
This plugin is not built and packaged in the libasound2-plugins package. I suggest that this plugin be included in libasound2-plugins or packaged in it's own package. The package would need to depend on libsamplerate0. A high quality sample rate conversion plugin is extremely useful as the standard SRC algorithm used in ALSA offers poor audio quality, with high levels of noise and harmonic distortion. Including this plugin with the ALSA packages would make it simpler to configure ALSA for excellent sound quality - closer to the capabilities of the hardware and expectations of the users.
