Did you have these packages installed before trying to update TeX Live? In that case this is very likely the reason for your problems. Norbert reported such difficulties with his unofficial jadetex packages recently. The thread starts here: <URL:http://lists.debian.org/debian-tex-maint/2006/08/msg00027.html>. There is no solution as of yet. And since this involves unofficial packages, it has not been documented. BTW, it should be possible to install these unofficial jadetex packages again.
