Package: mimedefang Version: 2.56-1 Severity: wishlist The group ownership of /var/spool/MIMEdefang was changed from "defang" to "smmsp" because of #225785. This is however not a good solution. It works equally well to keep the old group permissions and add smmsp to the defang group.
The new setting breaks virus scanning with clamd. Clamd needs read access to the spool directory, and this is best accomplished by adding clamav to the defang group. (Adding clamav to the smmsp group instead is obviously illogical and ugly, since the purpose is to give clamd access to MIMEdefang files.) -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.16-2-686 Locale: LANG=sv_SE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=sv_SE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages mimedefang depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.2 Debian configuration management sy ii libc6 2.3.6-15 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libdigest-sha1-perl 2.10-1 NIST SHA-1 message digest algorith ii libio-stringy-perl 2.110-1 Perl5 modules for IO from scalars ii libmailtools-perl 1.74-0.1 Manipulate email in perl programs ii libmime-perl 5.420-0.1 Perl5 modules for MIME-compliant m ii libperl5.8 5.8.8-4 Shared Perl library ii libunix-syslog-perl 0.100-4 Perl interface to the UNIX syslog( ii perl [libmime-base64-perl] 5.8.8-4 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction ii psmisc 22.2-1 Utilities that use the proc filesy ii sendmail 8.13.7-2 powerful, efficient, and scalable Versions of packages mimedefang recommends: ii tk8.4 [wish] 8.4.12-1 Tk toolkit for Tcl and X11, v8.4 - -- debconf information: mimedefang/embedperl: true -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
