The installer detects the card but fails to set it up. Of course, installer in 'stable' release doesn't work, either. Through my experiments I know what the problem is. ** Solution ** The NIC requires more recent driver code than is available in the installer. I have compiled a 2.6.15 kernel on this machine and that recognizes the NIC without a problem. The 2.6.15 contains a driver with a timestamp of 2005 whereas the driver in the non-working kernels generally have shown a 2004 timestamp. So, incorporation of new driver code is required. - Sarath -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
