Greetings,

I have been working on the upgrade of gwyddion to the series 3
in Debian. The interface is up and running, but the support is
still deemed unstable upstream. Checking how things behave, as
I already noted in #1122272, 3D will remain missing. I also
have not been able to process native gwyddion files, which feels
like a big regression for end users I think:

        $ gwyddion3 --identify chip.gwy
        chip.gwy: Unknown

For reference, gwyddion is capable of working with gwyddion
files alright and the identify function returns the file type
properly:

        $ gwyddion --identify chip.gwy
        chip.gwy: Gwyddion native format (.gwy) [gwyfile, 100]

I don't exclude to have missed something while wrapping up the
package, but I have yet to identify what, if that is indeed the
case. I plan to upload my work to experimental as a starter.

Have a nice day,  :)
