I will look into downloading the .dsc with 'gbp import-dsc' and place it
on top of the upstream branch, perhaps using pristine-tar as well.
Hopefully that will solve the problem.
By the way, would you be kind to grant me access to the repository, I'm
only a DM, so I need explicit access to all repositories I work on.

I looked at the renaming of the package from bug [1] and the new request 
of adding a library and development package in [2]. Have you any thoughts
on names for these packages? Right now it looks like Debian is the only
one that uses the pahole name, which makes it the odd one out.
