The upstream Github repository has a few open pull requests that fixes some
bugs with lm-sensors. Unfortunately, upstream appears to be unmaintained, so
could you please include the patches in Debian's copy of the package in the
meantime?

In particular, the following 2 PRs fixes issues that impacts me directly:
 - https://github.com/hramrach/lm-sensors/pull/12
 - https://github.com/hramrach/lm-sensors/pull/11
But I imagine the other open PRs might be useful to be include as well
