Package: fish Version: 4.2.1-3 Severity: normal After upgrading fish, $fish_complete_path and $fish_function_path don't contain /usr/share/fish/completions and /usr/share/fish/functions, respectively. This is due to the failure of the 'if not $is_standalone' condition in /usr/share/fish/config.fish, lines 88 and 97. I don't know what the standalone/embedded issue is, so I'm not able to suggest a solution.
As a temporary workaround, I've added the following lines to my ~/.config/fish/config.fish: set -a fish_function_path $__fish_data_dir/functions set -a fish_complete_path $__fish_data_dir/completions Thanks, Gian Piero. -- System Information: Debian Release: forky/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 6.12.32-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_WARN Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US:en Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: OpenRC (via /run/openrc), PID 1: init LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages fish depends on: ii bsdextrautils 2.41.2-4 ii fish-common 4.2.1-3 ii groff-base 1.23.0-9 ii libc6 2.41-12 ii libgcc-s1 15.2.0-9 ii libpcre2-32-0 10.46-1 ii libpcre2-8-0 10.46-1 ii man-db 2.13.1-1 ii procps 2:4.0.4-9 ii python3 3.13.7-1 Versions of packages fish recommends: ii chromium [www-browser] 142.0.7444.175-1 ii firefox [www-browser] 145.0.1-1 ii firefox-esr [www-browser] 140.5.0esr-1 ii links2 [www-browser] 2.29-2+b3 ii w3m [www-browser] 0.5.3+git20230121-2.1 ii xsel 1.2.1-1 Versions of packages fish suggests: pn doc-base <none> -- no debconf information
