All the information I have is already in the bug report :) I have no idea what changed in QEMU between 10.0 and 10.1 to cause this, but I have confirmed that the issues mentioned in the original report can be trivially reproduced in trixie, while upgrading *just QEMU* to the version in sid makes it go away. Pinpointing the exact commit that caused this change in behavior is a task better left to someone with experience in QEMU development, and ideally in the storage layer specifically.
