cli-common has been unmaintained for 6 years, and even before that it received only a single non-NMU update in 11 years. It has been formally orphaned one year ago: https://bugs.debian.org/1079871. Following that orphaning, no one stepped up to propose taking over its maintenance. Since no one wants to maintain it, and we are not going to do it either, we should cut our ties with it: 1. Drop all integration with cli-common, especially from maintainer scripts and custom dh_* scripts; 2. Drop all dependency relationships with cli-common, even Recommends/Suggests ones. 3. Fill a removal request against cli-common. This is probably going to lead to the removal of other packages, but it’s actually a wanted consequence. These packages are abandoned, and should no longer be seen as reliable. - -- System Information: Debian Release: forky/sid APT prefers unstable-debug APT policy: (500, 'unstable-debug'), (500, 'testing-debug'), (500, 'stable-debug'), (500, 'oldstable-debug'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (500, 'oldstable'), (1, 'experimental-debug'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 6.12.38+deb13-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iIYEARYKAC4WIQSUsdxM90hewW6X7Jhja3j5HOuA2AUCaKBsMhAcZGViaWFuQHZ2 MjIxLmZyAAoJEGNrePkc64DYRhsA/2JVfdHokex3sYyGGI3Y1DNTgzHOCMpihFEg FnjAwTBxAP9YaT2WnY5jLxK8xwV5mXbaYXP7fU4MMq9RGhrd07GhBg== =ylR4 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
