Yes, makes sense to me, even though I guess that backport will have to wait until after trixie is released? Or maybe I should simply include a patched version of the ov08x40 driver along with a dkms package of https://github.com/intel/usbio-drivers . Not realle a DD so this is purely theoretical, but would that be allowed or is there a policy preventing dkms packages from replacing mainline drivers? I realize that I'll have to cheat to make dkms auto-install it - but that can be done with a file in /usr/share/dkms/modules_to_force_install. FWIW, the usbio-drivers dkms package will be required for ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 12 camera support anyway until Intel, or someone else, makes those drivers suitable for mainline. Bjørn
