I am skeptical whether that is practical since these "legacy" (?) apps can be distributed outside Debian, as snaps or Flatpaks or just binaries. I still don't think you've made a convincing argument for why your proposed change provides enough benefit to users to outweigh the potential harm. Thank you, Jeremy Bícha
