Package: emacs Version: 1:29.4+1-6 Severity: serious Justification: potential data loss
Hi,For some time now, I'm not sure for how long but counting in weeks, I'm experiencing an occasional hang of my full system (no keyboard or mouse response) while working in emacs. It seems to always happen when I jump to the start of a buffer after some operations, but I've not been able to create a reproducible recipe yet. Experimenting today, I hang the system now about 5 times, but the amount of operations to get to that point so far are a bit much (adding text, deleting text and finishing with jumping to the beginning of the buffer with Ctrl-Shift-<).
Once I reboot the system, I can see the following line about 20 times per second in the journal from the moment the system hangs.
Feb 27 09:16:12 toba kwin_wayland_wrapper[2100]: Key repeat discarded, Wayland compositor doesn't seem to be processing events fast enough!
I'll try to create a better reproducer on my system. Do you have advice how to collect data that can help you understand the problem (I'm assuming it's related to my setup as this seems so severe that others would have reported it too)?
PaulPS: when I jump to the beginning of the buffer in cases the system doesn't hang yet, emacs emits a "Mark set" which I'm used to only see when I'm actively setting the mark with Ctrl-Space, and the mark doesn't seem to be actually set.
