Oh, a good idea. I don't have an MTA anymore, so now even I, the author of installation-birthday, don't receive notifications anymore. Not sure how it might work without cron — a question perhaps for another bug entirely. But assuming that cron is at least installed, would you think a notify-send notification with no expiry * would work? That would at least mean that if it triggered at 3am or something unholy, you might have a chance of seeing it in the morning. * Or perhaps an expiry of 24 hours.
