Despite this I think it makes perfectly sense to maintain debroster on Salsa in the debian/ team to provide easy access for people who might want to run a booth at some exposition and would like to add some feature to this package. For this purpose I've created a Git repository on Salsa.[2] It contains the fix for bug #1007297 and makes the package compliant to the latest packaging standards.
I have mixed views on this. In general, I'm not keen on 3.0 packaging formats, since I think trying to bundle a mini VCS into a source package is a mistake, and keeping the git repository as the preferred source for modification is better (which in turn is better done with the older source format, until someone actually implements 3.0(git) or similar).
I'd be happy with the changes were the package format left as 1.0. Would that be acceptable?
