I don't think this is obviously the case - it's not that the systemd maintainers have done a thing that we require them not to do (or vice versa). Likewise, whilst we haven't canvassed maintainers of every system-log-daemon implementation to check they can be modified to co-exist as D posits, I don't think voting for D is overriding all of those maintainers.
