Does this mean that systemd should (accourding to the technical
committee) have "Provides: system-log-daemon" as it can serve the
purpose of that virtual package?

How should this dependency look like? If systemd can fulfill the
dependency, but cannot use "Provides: system-log-daemon" (see question
above), should other packages use "Recommends: systemd | system-log-
daemon"?

I think it would be helpful to be explicit on these questions.
