|
| This is the crux, and I do not understand it. My last build here (in
| September) was still against OpenMPI 4.* and it worked
|
| checking if pkg-config knows about OpenMPI... yes
| checking for orted... yes
|
| Now we have OpenMPI 5.*, and orted is clearly in /usr/bin/orted but it is not
| being found.

I was too fast. In OpenMPI 4.* they exist, in OpenMPI 5.* they are renamed:

root@40628efb0bf2:/# dpkg -L openmpi-bin | grep /usr/bin/p
/usr/bin/prte
/usr/bin/prte_info
/usr/bin/prted
/usr/bin/prun
/usr/bin/pterm.openmpi
/usr/bin/prterun
root@40628efb0bf2:/#

That breaks the package. Will talk to upstream, and maybe our openmpi
maintainers too.

Cheers, Dirk

| The (upstream) autoconf logic is simple:
|
| if test "$MPITYPE" = "OPENMPI" ; then
| AC_CHECK_PROG(ORTED, orted, yes, no)
| if test "$ORTED" = no ; then
| AC_MSG_ERROR(Cannot find orted. Rmpi needs orted to run.)
| fi
| fi
|
| Why would that fail? Any idea? Any other OpenMPI-using packages having
issues?
