Are you aware of the commands rm_conffile and mv_conffile from the
dpkg-maintscript-helper package [1]? These might be helpful get rid of
the left behind file.
Sure I'm aware of this. But these aren't helpful in this case,
since (so far) this conffile isn't being removed (unless we want
to get rid of them for sure as I already mentioned in my previous
email) and not being moved either.
