I'm unsure about this.
I fear that this will cause more confusion than help. The timestamp of
the command can be checked, but not any data files it uses to get this,
so it will sometimes recognize changes, sometimes need the explicit
notification.
I'm currently considering the need for the explicit setting when
anything like this should be taken into account a more clean approach.
(Especially as working with timestamps always gives funny results with
time-skews).
