Jonas recently requested updates of two more rustcrypto packages block-buffer and block-padding, on the one hand I think these should be updated, on the other hand I don't really want to further increase the number of packages for which we are carrying multiple versions in Debian.
I discussed this with Jochen on IRC and we agreed that after bookworm release we would upgrade the remainig rustcrypto packages and bump this up to serious. If someone wants to fix this by introducing yet more semver-suffixed packages, I can't/won't stop them, but I'd really rather see it fixed by the code being updated to work with newer dependencies.
