Package: usrmerge Version: 35 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
On upgrading Alpha system with the package libc6.1-alphaev67 installed when installing usrmerge the following occurred: Setting up usrmerge (35) ... cp: cannot create regular file '/usr/lib/alpha-linux-gnu/ev67/libc.so.6.1': No such file or directory FATAL ERROR: cp --no-dereference --preserve=all --reflink=auto --sparse=always /lib/alpha-linux-gnu/ev67/libc.so.6.1 /usr/lib/alpha-linux-gnu/ev67/libc.so.6.1: rc=1 You can try correcting the errors reported and running again /usr/lib/usrmerge/convert-usrmerge until it will complete without errors. Do not install or update other Debian packages until the program has been run successfully. E: usrmerge failed. dpkg: error processing package usrmerge (--configure): installed usrmerge package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1 Errors were encountered while processing: usrmerge On examining the directory /usr/lib/alpha-linux-gnu/ I see ev4 and ev5 directories but no ev67 directory. Presumably the copy of the ev67 tuned libc6.1 library failed because the target directory did not exist. I manually made the ev67 directory in /usr/lib/alpha-linux-gnu/ and reran the usrmerge installation and it then completed successfully.
