Sorry to be so contrary... but the current version does not seem to be
like that. The man page says:

    ...
    -L[efos]
        Specify where logging output should be directed (standard error
        or output, to a file or via syslog).  See  LOGGING  OPTIONS  in
        snmpcmd(1) for details.
    ...
    -O [abeEfnqQsStTuUvxX]
        Specifies how MIB objects and other output should be displayed.
        See  the  section  OUTPUT OPTIONS in the snmpcmd(1) manual page
        for details.
    ...

I believe that -Lsd means (L) log to (s) syslog with (d) LOG_DAEMON
facility. Seems that -L cannot be used on its own; and I do not see any
meaning for neither -Ow nor for -w.

As proof of pudding... it did not work for me with -LOw, nothing went
into syslog; things are working well with -Lsd.
