So it tries to create exactly the directory that it should, but is not allowed. You said that you are member of the users group - have you been that before this problem, or have you only added the user today? You need to log out and in again to make this change effective. So the problem can probably be reproduced simply by trying to create the directory manually: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ mkdir /var/cache/fonts/tfm/jknappen Please log out an in again (or simply log in on a text console for testing).
